Remote Pickup

The system can be configured to allow you to answer incoming calls directed to another etension. When you hear an incoming call alert for that other extension you can dial a special number to answer that call.

If you want to answer the call to another extension, you simply need to dial 8, followed immediately by that other extension number.

For instance, to pick up an incoming call to extension 245, you just need to dial 8245.

Technical explanation of this feature

By default, the Router configuration directs all calls made to 8nnn to the pickup application. For instance, all calls to 8123, 8234, or 8345 are sent to a program on the server which handles this special feature.

That program intercepts the incoming call to extension 123, 234, or 345 and sends that call to your extension.

You can pick up incoming calls directed to a different user only if that user has granted you the Call Control access right, or if you have the CanControlCalls Domain Access right.
