Make Calls, Conference and Transfer Using Pronto Soft Phone

Making a call from within Pronto

Within Pronto, there are 3 options you have for making calls from the default interface, which is your webmail inbox.

  • Click on the green phone in the top menu bar.

  • Or, click on the Call button on the side menu.

  • Or, right click on an e-mail in your inbox from a saved contact & select Call from the drop down menu.

If you selected the third option, selecting Call from the drop down menu, your call will be initiated automatically and this window will appear.

Otherwise follow the instructions in the next sections to connect your call.

Making Call Popup
From the Calls window:
  • Click on New Call ( first option in horizontal menu ).

From the Create call window:
  • Enter in the phone number or SIP ID, using the soft pad in Pronto or your computer keyboard.
  • Click Call.

This will bring up the dialed number in a new window.

The call status will change color to green and display Connected when the receiver picks up.

This window provides other simple features:

  • Adjust your microphone & call volume (top right).
  • Use the drop down keypad to make selections within the call.
  • End or hang up with End call.

Make a Conference Call

From the Calls window:

  • Click on Start Conference

From the window that appears:
  • Click on Add me.

    This will give you control over the conference call.

Once connected, you will get an alert in your IM (instant messaging).

And status will change to green and Connected.

To add other parties to your conference call:

  • Click on Add person.

From the Add person window:

  • Enter in the other party’s phone number or SIP ID.
  • Click Add person.

    The invite will now be sent.

Once connected, status will change to green and say Connected.

  • Add more people to the conference with the Add person function.

Transferring a Call

This is similar to the conference function.

Once the third party is connected, transfer is completed by pressing End Call.

You can transfer both incoming and outgoing calls.

 

  • Open the Create call window.
  • Enter in the phone number or SIP ID of the person you wish to call.
  • Then click Call.

  • Click Add Person.
Making Call
From the Add Person window:
  • Enter in the other party’s phone number or SIP ID.
  • Click Add Person.

Once connected to the 3rd party, status will change to green and say Connected.

  • Release yourself by clicking End Call.
  • Transfer complete.
